After the disastrous last year Comic Fiesta (CF) at The Mines, this year they shifted the location to PWTC (Putra World Trade Centre) Convention Centre.
In case anyone wondering why CF organizer didn't just stick to KLCC, we were having few issues; KLCC raised the rental price and the truth is, they didn't like us much - KLCC is viewed as a luxurious shopping center, not a spot for weebos to hang around 🙄
Weebo/Weeb: A weebo is much like an Otaku. Weebo's-or commonly misspelled, Weaboo- is an over obsessive fan of Japanese culture, and are giving Otakus a bad name. They revolve their whole lives around anime and manga, usually with the main stream material. The common Otaku likes anime, and does occasionally cosplay. Weebos just cosplay and watch anime to be like the Otakus. Weebos are usually friends with Otakus, and want to impress them.
Otaku: Otaku is a Japanese term for people with obsessive interests, particularly in anime and manga. The use originated with Akio Nakamori's 1983 essay in Manga Burikko.
Anyway back to Comic Fiesta! In my opinion the hall is also narrow and a lot more uncomfortable than The Mines :( Also they put much priority to the cosplay event when Comic Fiesta supposed to be more focusing to the doujins (self-published comics).
Comic Fiesta (CF) is Malaysia's longest-running convention that focuses on animation, comics and games (ACG). Their focus is to celebrate all aspects of art and creativity (and the ever popular ACG culture). Comic Fiesta is usually held in December at various locations, with the previous event held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Comic Fiesta (CF)'s is an event held with the motto of "event by fans for fans", and is also currently the first and the biggest non-profit ACG convention in Malaysia, organised by a group of volunteers to bring the comic convention experience to the Malaysian audience.
My two best friends (and housemates) open booth for the third time (consecutively).
The gang I did Global Game Jam with in 2013 doing some promotion for Assassin's Creed.
Playing Magic the Gathering (MTG) after years! I need to refresh myself many times 😂
After short game they let me have a game set (2 decks, I choose Darkness and Light set)
Hangout at Sunway Putra Mall (the mall next to PWTC). They were having some Japanese decorations. Not sure if it's coincidence or it is fr CF.
I just loot official Mews (as usual) and a set of Studio Ghibli bookmarks made by my friend
While I find PWTC Convention Centre is as not big as KLCC and similar to The Mines + annoying corridor and building connections, at least the centre located next to LRT station which is very convenient to travel. I don't mind coming again, but I will still think about it.
P.S: 17 December is my younger brother's birthday. After CF I straight went to meet up with him for birthday celebration XD
