Mensa Nice To Meet New: Fave HQ + Bodyline Stripped Sailor

Updated: Jan 15, 2021

We kick off our first NTMN (Nice to Meet New) this year with a special meeting with Yeoh Chen Chow, co-Founder of Fave to talk about why he continues to be a Member for more than 2 decades and how it has benefited him through the years.

What is NTMN (Nice to Meet New)?

NTMN is a quarterly event held by Malaysian Mensa to all new members. Basically it's a welcome gathering. It open to all members. Only members allowed to attend, but younger members (below 15) require parents or guardians to attend as well - for safety ofc. Here new member will mingle around with veteran members and get to know all these: What is Mensa all about? Why should I be a member? Where are we heading together?

Group photo with all fellow Malaysian Mensans and the Fave co-founder, Mr. Yeoh Chen Chow (who is also a Mensan! FYI Both founders of Fave are Mensan - crazy right? XD)

Leaving My Friend's Place

I stayed overnight at my friend's place as it was convenient for me to travel to the event location (plus it was nearby to my yesterday company's escape room event). As I was about to leave, it was heavily raining. Very. Heavy. Rain. OMG.

I'm soaked and cold. Oh well...

Nice to Meet New @ Fave Office

Due to the rain I was one hour late; in fact I was the last to arrived! DX One thing I know about Malaysian Mensa, they're crazy punctual despite we Malaysian are notorious never on time! And I'm not even complaining! I like it this way!

Due to Corona virus outbreak, temperature screening is compulsory for all participants prior entering the event space. For those found to have high fevers are all refrained from entering the event space (luckily despite the rush walk my temperature remained normal).

We kicked off the event with talk by Mr. Yeoh Chen Chow, the co-founders of Fave. Held at Fave HQ itself, members will also get a chance to peer into what goes on in the headquarters of one of the fastest growing Start-ups in the region.

What is Fave? Fave is the next generation merchant digital platform in South East Asia. Fave helps to digitize tens of thousands of local businesses, from restaurants, cafes, retailers, spas, beauty and wellness studios, service providers, tourist attractions to hotels.

Who is Mr Yeoh Chen Chow? Prior to Fave Chen Chow, was the Regional Operations Director for Groupon Asia Pacific, Product Manager for JobStreet.com (he did the compulsary English test for on the website. Now I know who was responsible for my headaches haha -__-) and Management Consultant for Accenture. He is an Eisenhower Fellow and an alumnus of Cornell University. He is passionate and active in youth/student/entrepreneur empowerment, and he spent quite a bit of his free time in mentoring. He is also an angel investor, who has invested in numerous early stage startups in the region. - source Malaysian Mensa

Then we off for Fave office tour, lead by Mr. Yeoh Chen Chow himself (at 28th floor!)

The cool client meeting space that reflects the company name. Seriously cool!

Forbes one day? XD Fun posing with my braces haha..

I had always wanted to try this scooter and I finally did! Wobbly as hell! It's not easy to have full control (or balance) when your other half is unstable *cries haha*

Coord Breakdown

This is my first Lolita purchase of 2020 (despite I said I'm not going to buy any Lolita dress this year) haha....I failed so badly (not to mentioned I also purchased a doll too...)...

Jsk: Bodyline

Blouse, Beret: Red Maria (Taobao)

Stockings: Daiso

Shoes: Converse All Stars

I'm wearing Converse for experimental looks + comfortably as I'm currently wearing arm and leg braces. Too be honest this look is not that bad but I better clean my shoes ==ll

My bf is looking for photos of other countries Mensans wearing Croatia (Hrvatska) Mensa t-shirt. Since I haven't own one yet, I borrowed from one of the members to send him this.

Botanica + Co

Finally we have dinner at the Botanica + Co. It's optional but I decided to attend so I can mingle around. I've been to this place many times, and I can tell you, despite the price (which are pricey haha), the foods are heavenly~ Highly reccomanded.

Meet new people today, mostly new members. To be honest I prefer if we have dinner in more open space than restaurant because here I'm limited to socialize with people within my radius. Didn't managed to socialize with the other half of the table.
