The Promotional Brochure. I cook a lot but I had never bake or make any dessert so I'm pretty exited. Originally I almost bailed out due to sudden rise of Covid-19 but since the branch I'm going (Pavillion Elite) haven't have any reported case, I decided to go.
Gâteau Au Chocolat: A Fluffy Cake
When I arrived I was confused why I was taken to another table instead of joining Ze Ming and his brother Max to make the chocolate mousse. Turned out I had accidentally registered to make Gâteau instead! Oh well DX
Regardless I'm excited, as I mentioned before I had never bake or make any dessert before. The guy who doing the same course with me said the same thing although our instructor Lokas (pronounced Lucas) are amused to see us catch up very fast; that's because we both have cooking experience and very familiar with most equipment's and techniques. Even tho the recipe said the base is chocolate milk, Lokas said they decided to use dark chocolate instead as we will be using quite an amount of sugar and the end result might ended up too sweet - not only it's a lot more unhealthy, it might even be not edible.
As we chit chat I would eventually found out Lokas came the same hometown with me. What a small world haha. We aso surprised to learn my partner and I are over 30s. By this time I can feel terrible pain on my right side, particular my right hand from all the whisking and beating processes. Mmmmnn maybe baking not really a good idea for me...
After 40 minutes waiting to bake it's ready! It's so fluffy~ Earlier I did terrible job with the egg separation technique, so Lokas let us know that my cake might have more volume and bogger than my partner. It's perfect as I'm planning to share with Ze Ming and Max haha.

The Dark Spellcaster Mousse): A Halloween Treat
So while waiting for our cakes bake for 40 minutes I decided to look (and record) Ze Ming and Max making the chocolate mousse. The mousse making looks more complicated XD
Aaaaah this is what I supposed to be making ;__; Oh well. Guess I just keep a copy of this recipe and watch how these boys making them.
A lot of delicate and precision techniques, now I wonder if I can actually do it considering my hand's condition. My hand can be quite shaky at times (not as bad as Domy tho).
Look how focused and dedicated those two haha

End Trial: Evaluation Time!
To be honest I am super glad I decided to come after all. And even I ended up making something else and not together with Ze ming and Max, I had a blast!
Our pride, perfectly displayed with the Halloween decoration. After we done the trials, our instructors took us to introduced the full courses packages.
They have several programs; Cooking (Japanese and Western dishes), Bread Making, Baking (mainly desserts), and Wagashi (traditional Japanese confections that are often served with green tea, especially the types made of mochi, anko (azuki bean paste) and fruits. Wagashi are typically made from plant-based ingredients).
If you decided to take one of these courses, you will be given a membership card and passport. ABC Cooking originated from Japan and have branches on several countries; Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, and Macau. Basically if you have this passport you take new trials or continue your courses at all branches. Each countries have special trials recipes.
Alas none of us decided to take any of them (maybe for now) due to the prices and we don't think we have the time to commit, especially with Covid raging around right now. Alas our desserts are ready to try! Mine had cool down and the boys' mousse had chilled long enough. I gave some portion of mine to the boys while they gave me one mousse.
I decided to make a combo with my Gâteau and the mousse and OMG it's phenomenal! I need to find out what's the chocolate base they use because both of them tasted fantastic! And not to mentioned the skull decorations for the mousse is super cute and Ze Ming call it sus hahaha (we played too much Among Us) XD
